Working with Clients

 

Receptionist:

Responsibilities
Greet clients, obtain client information, answer client calls, take messages, make referrals and perform miscellaneous clerical duties.

Requirements
Application, two personal references, interview, on-the-job training, in-service training every other month and work one four-hour shift weekly with a one-year commitment.



 

Counselor:

Responsibilities
Counsel clients, follow up by telephone and/or
personal contact and make community referrals.

Requirements
Application, two personal references, interview,
attend a training seminar (total of twenty-eight
hours), in-service training every other month and
work one four-hour shift weekly with a one-year
commitment.


 

HelpLine Counselor:

Responsibilities
Accept forwarded phone calls in your home from 5 pm to 8:30 am twice monthly, schedule appointments, take messages, make referrals and counsel clients.

Requirements
Application, two personal references, interview, attend a six-hour training seminar and work two weekday nights per month with a one-year
commitment.


 

Nurse:

Responsibilities
Verify pregnancy tests, provide prenatal
education and make medical care referrals.


Requirements
Application, two personal references, interview,
on-the-job training, in-service training every other
month and work one four-hour shift weekly with
a one-year commitment.

 

Material Assistance:

Responsibilities
Organize diapers and sort baby clothing, formula and furniture to distribute to clients.

Requirements
Application, two personal references, interview, on-the-job training, and work one four-hour shift weekly with a six month commitment.

 

Student Drama Team:

   

Call for information on our  Willing to Wait™ drama team composed of area teens.


Behind the Scenes

 

Monthly Mailing Team:

   

Responsibilities
Assemble monthly bulk mailings.

Requirements
Work four to six hours, usually the last week on the month. Dates and times are schedules by out administrative staff.


 

Prayer Team:

   

Responsibilities
Come to the center to pray for clients, staff, volunteers, future direction of the center, the board, pro-life issues, and each department of the ministry.

Requirements
Willingness to petition God and be committed to the ministry in prayer for two hours once or twice a month.


 

Office Assistance/Data Entry:

Responsibilities
Provide administrative support such as enter data into computer for statistical and client reports on a weekly basis, or one time for
special events.


Requirements
Basic understanding of computers, attention to detail, willingness to maintain confidentiality, application, two personal references, interview, on-the-job training and work one half day per week with a one-year commitment.

 

Maintenance:

Responsibilities
Light building maintenance, cleaning, yard work, simple repairs, and some moving, lifting, and hauling when necessary.

Requirements
Flexible schedule or on-call basis, usually a half day two to four times a month. Schedule with administrative staff. Most tools provided.

 

Group Projects:

   

On occasion we need the help of groups of 8-10 people for projects such as:

  • Major cleaning projects
  • Special events
  • Collecting diapers, formula, and baby items in local churches
 

Special Events:

   
  • LifeWalk
  • Golf for Life
  • Gala
  • Life Change Baby Bottle Fund Raiser

Many volunteers are needed to plan and work these events. Call for dates and information.
