In the winter of 1984, the sidewalk in front of an abortion clinic which now houses Planned Parenthood was a cold place to talk to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Two sidewalk counselors began to pray and take action towards securing funds to lease a small office space next to the clinic. A few local churches and other donors provided the seed money needed to lease the Pregnancy Resource Center's first office space next door to the abortion clinic.
When Susan came to the Pregnancy Resource Center she was accompanied by asidewalk counselor from the abortion clinic. From the moment she arrived it was clear that God was already at work in Susan’s heart, revealing His love for her and her baby.
"I really messed up this time!" she repeated over and over again as if her heart would break. Maria, a young single mother of a two-year-old, now found herself pregnant for a second time. But this time, the father pressured her to have an abortion.

Even though we’ve never met, in a very real sense, you are my friend. Thanks to you, and others who support the Pregnancy Resource Center, I am alive today to share my story with you. And so is the light of my life, my daughter, Ashley.
